Privacy Policy

    Summary: TaleBox does not collect any personally identifiable information (name, email, phone number, etc.). Your story data is stored on your own device and iCloud account — you are in full control.
  

1. Information We Collect

TaleBox itself does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. Here is how the app handles data:

Story content: Keywords you enter, AI-generated story text, reading progress, and favorites are stored on your local device (CoreData) and in your own iCloud account (if sync is enabled).
Character information: Character name, avatar emoji, personality tags, and similar data are stored locally and in iCloud only.
Preferences: Language preference, theme setting, notification time, and similar settings are stored locally on your device.

2. AI Story Generation

TaleBox uses a third-party AI service to generate story content. When you initiate story generation, the following information is sent to that service:

Story keywords you enter (1–3 words)
Your character's name
Brief summaries of this week's stories (for seven-day arc continuity)

We do not store any of the above information on our own servers. TaleBox has no proprietary backend — all requests are made directly from your device.

3. iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud sync, your stories, character data, and settings will be synchronized to your iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit service. This data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy. You can disable sync at any time in App Settings, or manage data under iOS Settings → iCloud → TaleBox.

4. Push Notifications

If you grant notification permission, TaleBox sends a daily story reminder at your chosen time. Notification content is generated locally and does not involve a server. You can disable notifications at any time in App Settings or iOS System Settings.

5. Data Security

Your data is stored locally on your device and in iCloud, protected by iOS sandboxing and Apple's encryption. We cannot access your iCloud data.

6. Children

TaleBox is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will note them in the app update release notes. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
